Course summary:
This full-day course will enable you to develop a basic understanding of what Autism is and how to approach it as a difference rather than a disorder. We will explore in ways which Autism presents itself in the Early Years.

- Learn to recognise the three areas of difference for autistic children and how these can affect them.
- Explore theoretical understanding of the history of autism and major theoretical perspectives used today.
- Identify To develop a basic understanding of what autism is and to approach it as a difference rather than a disorder.the cognitive functions and brain systems which can be different in autistic individuals and how this reflects in behaviour and sensory differences.
- Understand the terminology of neuro-inclusive and practice and what this may look like in the Early Years.
- Reflect on your understanding of how autism may present in the Early Years.
